The 2014 World Cup has really taken a toll on Barcelona’s Neymar as he had to be out of action and unable to play for neither his club nor his country for more than 1 month. Brazil’s match against Colombia saw the Brazilians coming out with the victory but Neymar had to be stretched out of the pitch.
Neymar was expected to make a return just in time for Barcelona’s season opener against Elche but the former Santos player sustained a setback in his recovery process which forced him to stay out of action during Barcelona’s first match of the league against Elche. The team of Luis Enrique came out with the victory as Lionel Messi and Munir El Haddadi guided the team to victory.
According to the official website of Barcelona, Neymar is ready to play and has been training with his teammates during the latest practice sessions of the club. The next league match of Barcelona will take place on August 31 and Neymar is likely to make his debut in this new season of the Spanish League.
Even without having Neymar on the pitch, Barcelona still dominated the pitch with their usual dominating possession playing style which helped the squad on having more than 70% of possession throughout the entire match and things are expected to turn even better for the Spanish side when Luis Suarez returns to the playing ground and forms an attacking trio consisting of: Neymar, Suarez and Messi.
Supporters of Barcelona will be happy to see Neymar returning to the pitch on August 4 when the club travels to the El Madrigal Stadium and face off with Villareal. It still remains unsure if Luis Enrique will include Neymar in his starting lineup from the start of the match or if Neymar is only going to be performing for a few minutes as Enrique has to take into consideration that the Brazilian would still need some time to complete the final stages of his recovery and avoid facing any unnecessary injuries.
