Brazil star player Neymar has moved up his number of goals to 50 in 74 games as the team defeated rival Argentina in a clear 3-0 victory .
With the victory, the team has just recorded the fifth win under the new coach Tite, which simultaneously made them remain at the top of the world cup qualification table of South America.
During the match, Neymar had recorded his 50th international goal as they went up against long time rivals Argentina. This would be the fifth consecutive win ever since the country’s new coach took over. Players’ Paulinho and Phillipe Coutinho also scored to make the tally 3-nill.
The match which was played at Estadio Mineiro signified a triumphant return for the team as history had not favored them in the past at the stadium. It was the scene of their loss to Germany in the 2014 world cup.
They had suffered a humiliating 7-1 loss against a particularly tough opponent; Germany. This victory has sealed the team with 24 points from all eleven games making them the head of the 10 team competition.
While this may be a time for celebration for the Brazilian team, it is not a very good period for the Argentinean squad as the loss only goes to further deepen the crisis. The team has been having a rough time in the tournament as they have only managed to take two points out of their last four matches and are currently ranked sixth in the group, which is just a spot away from the qualifying positions for the games in Russia.
